Dear Jim,
I bought a used bow off the internet and I don’t know if I should install a new string and cables. They look fine but I want to be sure. Any advice?
Depending on the age of the bow is a factor in changing your string and cables. If its an older bow three years or older you might consider changing them just to be safe. I have had bow strings blow up in the case because of dry rot or just plain wore out. Also check for serving separation around the cams and where the arrow attaches to the center serving. If it’s a newer bow and the servings look good your probably good for a year or so.
